Reggie Ariel Jackson

Mr. Reggie Ariel Jackson author, born and raised in St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands, arrived in this world on January 27, 1990. The circumstances of his birth were unique, as he was delivered in a makeshift hospital tent due to the damage caused by Hurricane Hugo to the island’s medical facilities. He emerged as the youngest among four brothers and one sister, growing up in the embrace of the Seventh Day Adventist community, particularly at the Bethel Seventh Day Adventist Church.

His childhood on the island was marked by joy, with a love for the beaches, local cuisine, and scenic beauty. A Seventh-Day Adventist since the age of seven, he encountered an early challenge when he broke his right leg during a soccer game at a church social event.

The right hemisphere of Mr. Jackson’s Caput and Cerebellum faced two instances of damage in unrelated and unfortunate events. The first occurred on December 25, 2008, when he experienced a major auto collision while serving in the military. The incident resulted in multiple fractures, collapsed lungs, and a traumatic brain injury, leading to a coma lasting approximately three months. Despite facing significant obstacles, he recovered and pursued a career in the medical field as a Nursing Assistant, eventually aspiring to become a surgeon.

However, less than two years later, on March 7, 2010, he encountered another life-threatening incident – a gunshot injury that caused extensive damage to the right hemisphere of his brain. This time, a futuristic metallic and plastic plate called hydroxyapatite was used in a craniotomy to reconstruct half of his skull. Diagnosed with Hemiparesis, the left side of his body faced functionality challenges.

Despite these challenges, Mr. Jackson persevered and achieved remarkable milestones, including obtaining a Paralegal Studies Degree. Blessed with supportive godparents who provided a home and assistance during his recovery, he fondly remembers them and their sacrifices.

Now, Mr. Reggie Ariel Jackson serves and protects his community, having sworn to the United States Constitution. Despite the profound impact of his injuries, he remains resilient, currently pursuing studies in Psychology. His unwavering faith in God and himself propels him forward, determined to thrive and prosper in all his endeavors.
